A friend of the seven-year-old boy whose mutilated body was found in DLF 1 has confessed to murdering him after a squabble over kabaddi. Police have been questioning the 13-yearold boy, who is a rag-picker, in connection with the case for the past two days. The teen, who has been apprehended by police, will be produced before the Justice Juvenile Board.
The victim’s family had raised suspicions about the 13-year-old, his sister and mother. ACP (DLF) Karan Goyal said that the women were also under the scanner but their involvement had not been proven yet. However, police suspect that the 13-year-old could not have murdered his playmate all by himself. Considering involvement of others, they have added Section 34 (common intention) of IPC to the FIR which was registered under IPC sections of 302 (murder) and 201 (hiding evidence) in the DLF 1 police station.
Earlier, only the head and legs of the victim had been recovered. On Thursday, rumours of recovery of the torso were doing the rounds but it has been denied by cops.
According to police, the teenager on Thursday confessed to stoning his friend to death. Police have also found the murder weapon — a sharp stone — but the missing torso remains a mystery. The teenager has not confessed to hacking the body, so far.
According to cops, the teenager told police that he,
along with the seven-yearold, and another boy went to play Kabaddi in the forest area. An argument broke out and the seven-year-old allegedly kicked him. The third boy left and taking the opportunity, the 13-year-old pushed his friend. “He slipped into a ditch and his chin hit a stone. He was bleeding. I went into the ditch and wanted to get him out. However, he abused my mother and threatened to complain against me. I was angry and…hit him four five times with stones lying there,” the teenager allegedly told police
